More Losses and First Pic

Well, I think 2009 will be the year that AOL and all its services will finally go down the toilet.  I received, yet another email, announcing the closing of a service connected with AOL.

Dear Plaxo user,

We're writing to inform you that due to changes in our business relationship with AOL, the Plaxo AOL Sync feature will permanently shut down as of
December 26, 2008.

AOL Sync will continue to function until that time. Your AOL address book and your Plaxo address book will not be affected, nor will you lose any data -- however, changes to one address book will no longer sync to the other after December 26, 2008. You will still be able to manually import your AOL address book to your Plaxo address book.

For detailed instructions on how to manually import your AOL address book, please visit:
http://help.plaxo.com.

It's always a hard decision to stop supporting features that our members use. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

Regards,

the Plaxo team

I'm sure more services have been shut down, but I just know about the ones I use. smile_sad

On to other things.  The camera works great.  It's not hard to figure out.  It's very different from my big Fuji. But, just perfect to take along with me.  The software does not install on Vista 64bit.  That's OK because I import via Picasa and handle stuff from there.

I have to keep an eye out for a CHEAP memory card.  The internal memory is 30mb and you know how fast that will get filled up.

Since I did have to work, I didn't get a lot of time to fiddle with pictures.  But, I did get one taken of Darby.  Poor baby is always the subject of quick pictures.  You can tell she was not in the mood.  She was sleepy and cold.

I will be busy uploading all the videos I took in 2006 when I went to Mom's for Christmas.  I want to make sure they are safe since I only have one copy of them on an old backup drive.  Motion Box keeps the original quality and if I ever want to download them again, they will be good quality and NOT the stripped down quality that happens when you upload to most other services.  Good stuff.

I was going to post a video just so you could see how big the girls are now.  But, I don't want to jump through hoops if it doesn't work right.  I'll worry about all that later on when I have more time.

Today will be catching up, and posting updates on all my blogs.

Have a great day, my friends.  Stay safe and warm.

I have been thinking AOL is going soon. They just priced themselves right out of business. I like it because it is so easy to use. I will still have my cable but I like AOL the best. Wish Google would buy what is left of it. Darby looks as snug as a bug in a rug. Have a nice day. Hugs, Helen

Darby is so cute!

I've found some reasonable memory cards on Amazon. You can get a 2G for $10 or probably even less now.
